Jeroboam And False Worship

Jeroboam became the leader of the 10 northern tribes of Israel and lead them into the sin of false worship. This form of false worship continued with the Samaritan people all the way down to the time of Jesus Christ.

Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well that true worshipers would worship the Father in spirit and in truth... but why was Jesus talking to her about the nature of true worship?

The story of how the Samaritans got their strange brew of false worship practices goes all the way back the separation of Israel into two kingdoms. Most of us know this as the story of Jeroboam and Rehoboam.
