1597 Geneva Dedication

The saying goes, It is easier to catch flies with honey than with vinegar. That might have been what the creators of one 1597 edition of the Geneva Bible thought. In an attempt to coax Queen Elizabeth I to adapt the Geneva Bible as the "official" English Bible, they wrote a four-page dedication to the Queen in flowery language flattering her, and the superiority of their translation.

All four of these pages are part of the Geneva Bible exhibit at the Museum of the English Bible in Cumberland, Maryland.
