This gecko literally has waterproof skin

This is a really cool aspect of gecko skin. The water is not actually touching their scales but coming into contact with air trapped in between tiny hair follicles called spinules. These follicles suspend the water so they can't flatten out over the skin's surface area. They are less than a thousandth of a millimeter apart and make geckos almost waterproof. Amazing!
