"The West Virginia Hills" is one of four of West Virginia's state songs.
"The West Virginia Hills" was written in 1879 as a poem and put to music in 1885 by Henry Everett Engle. The song was made one of West Virginia's state songs in 1961.

Chorus:
Oh, the hills, beautiful hills, How I love those West Virginia hills!
If o'er sea o'er land I roam, Still I'll think of happy home,
And my friends among the West Virginia hills!
