I traveled paths of broken glass
I skipped on streets of gold
I heeded countless words of wisdom
But didn't always do as told
As for people I disappointed
I can only name a few

I’ve been a loving righteous man
Way more times than not
I didn’t ask for much in life
But life sure took a lot
At times I had nothing
So I had nothing to lose,

Know when the best things
Are right in front of you
And know when the best was left behind
Hold onto any true love
It might be the only one you ever find

As the clock keeps on ticking
And more years start to fade
My sins are getting numbered
Yet I extend the time I pray
I think of ones that I let down

I hope forgiveness is there too
