What goes on in the mind of a hypnotized person?

This is about fifteen minutes into a casual (for fun) hypnosis session. The video starts directly after I gave my volunteer here the suggestion for name amnesia. You can see my relief at the 20 second mark when I realize the suggestion worked. (Sometimes even the best volunteers just blurt out their names.)

Rather than speeding through suggestions, I wanted to give him time to contemplate the situation and his experience.

Name and number amnesia are classic hypnosis suggestions, used not just for a laugh but also as a great way to show that something is really happening and that hypnosis involves more than playing along. Simple but effective!
