July 4th 2021 San Antonio Country Club Fireworks - With Actual Audio - A Drone View

We got invited by Drone Force USA to help record the fireworks at the San Antonio Country Club, over near Ft. Sam Houston. Despite some technical glitches that delayed the show start over 30 minutes, the view was spectacular. This location is near Ft Sam Houston, so it required clearance in advance before we could fly our drone in this area. We spotted numerous low flying helicopters passing nearby, probably on the way to SAAMC (San Antonio Military Medical Center), and other aircraft heading to San Antonio International Airport, prior to the show beginning.

We recorded the live audio using a camera on a tripod with a directional microphone, then merged that track with the drone footage. Due to the delay caused previously mentioned technical difficulties, we had to land and swap out drone batteries part way thru, but the other camera kept on rolling.

This video is less than 10 minutes in length, with most of the gaps edited out, and does not include the full length of the show which lasted about 30 minutes (with long gaps in between bursts). We hope you enjoy this condensed version that is being played at normal speed, not sped up.

We flew the Autel Evo 2 Pro 6K Drone, recording in 4K / 60fps. Ground camera was the DJI Osmo Action Camera with a directional boom microphone attached. We used ND4 filters on both the drone and the camera to reduce the glare from the fireworks.. Video Editing software was Wondershare Filmora X. Music was from Epidemic Sound.
