The materia leveled up and having Boomerang equipped to Yuffie and Marshalist's Staff & Firebird Armlet to Sonon is key to winning this battle.

The most important is having Elemental-Fire in Yuffie's armor so that she absorbs HP from Ifrit's fire attacks and out of the fire pools from Pride and Joy.
