20210709 Missing the Long Term - The Daily Summation

I'll be the first to acknowledge, as a younger man, I did a HORRIBLE job of ignoring the long term effects of my actions.

You get so involved in the day-to-day living of life, you just don't think too far in advance of what's going on around you.

That hit home recently, when looking at the idea of people who thought living off the government when they were perfectly able to provide for themselves here in the United States, appeared to seem like a good idea to many folks.

I have a simple question for ANYBODY who thinks that, "Where do you suppose the money the government is handing out like candy, COMES from?"

I've said it before, and will do so again, "government money," comes from one of three places:

1. Taxing those who can pay.
2. "Printing" currency.
3. Taking out "loans."

NONE of these is a sustainable way to do business without a robust economy OUTSIDE OF government.

If you're "getting yours" from government, YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM (even if you can make a case for doing so).

This is one of many ways, people miss the long term effects of their actions.

I talk about it, and one or two more in this video.

I know it's hard, but PLEASE, work to consider the long term. The rewards may surprise you.

That's what led me to discuss it on today's edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics.

When I'm able to complete the companion article on the Kurt's Religion and Politics blog, I'll post a link to it here.
