SUNSET IN JACO 🌅 Town + Beach Walk [NARRATED] [2021]

Let's walk town for a little bit, then head down to the beach for sunset in Jaco, Costa Rica 🇨🇷

→ We'll start this walk on the south end of central Jaco, on Pastor Diaz Ave at about Calle Sol D'Oro. With night approaching there's an increase in foot traffic as the bars become more busy.

→ We'll first pass a few department stores like Monge, Gollo, as well as Jaco Walk. Jaco Walk has lots of great restaurants which are perfect for dinner at night before heading into town.

→ We'll turn towards the beach on Calle Alice, which is a quiet street that has a few hotels. Included are Vistas Las Palmas - a very large and nice gated hotel. There's also Selina Hotel, which is a lower cost option and has very unique shops and a surf school.

→ When we get on the beach, we'll head north. Tide is about medium at this point, but if it was high tide the walking areas would be deep in water. It's worth checking the Tide Calendar to determine what conditions the beach will have at the time.

→ As we travel farther north, there's a river that runs adjacent to Calle Bohio. With heavy rain or high tide, this river can be very deep and fairly turbulent. Fortunately on this occasion the river was shallow and narrow to allow for easy crossing.

→ We go past Diamante Del Sol, a condominium complex that has very nice units. There's lots of long and short term rentals here, so the pool can become busy at certain times. The proximity to the beach and views are incredible from all the units.

→ We end our walk with the sunsetting on this fairly cloudy day. The sun sets over the mountains towards Santa Teresa which is across the Gulf of Nicoya.

Travelling in Costa Rica is much easier when you know some conversational Spanish. Many locals will understand English, but it will ease your experience by knowing some basic Spanish in advance. You'll be able to ask better questions and understand signs/shop owners. I recommend using Rosetta Stone before you even leave for your trip, and when you arrive you can refine your conversational skills.
