The Bee Gees wrote and recorded the song "Islands in the Stream." Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, two American country music performers, performed it. It was released as the first single from Rogers' album Eyes That See in the Dark in August 1983. It was composed for Marvin Gaye in an R&B style, but was later reworked for the Kenny Rogers album, and is named after the Ernest Hemingway novel.
