CROCODILE BRIDGE 🐊 Costa Rica Tourist Attraction [2021]

This is a quick video showing the Crocodile Bridge, which is located in Puntarenas, Costa Rica 🇨🇷

→ For starters, this bridge goes across the main highway/road which heads south along the Pacific Coast. It's very busy with all kinds of traffic. As can be expected, the cars do for the most part travel very fast. If you're visiting this bridge with children please use high diligence in keeping them away from the road.

→ The crocodiles hang out around a river on the north end of the bridge. There is a limited parking area to the south end, but then you'll have to walk across the bridge to see the crocs. There's ample parking on the north end and a shorter walk. This is the side of the bridge closest to San Jose.

→ On the north side, there's a few shops which sell souvenirs. There's also some restaurants and an ice cream shop. There's lots of lads directing traffic and approaching you to sell items on the bridge. You can find parking on your own quite easily.

→ Once you walk out on the bridge over the River Tarcoles, you'll likely see the crocodiles hanging out on several small land features within the water. The crocs can be seen swimming through the water, and will occasionally pop under the water. Some can be seen on the land as well.

→ The crocs are quite a distance from the bridge, so if you're looking for great photos with a DSLR bring a tele lens. For a phone, you'd likely want a small monopod or better to stabilize the shots at this distance.

→ When you're finished up with the croc watching, you can head down to Tarcoles - a small town on the water. You can head north towards Ortina then San Jose. You can also head south towards Jaco or Quepos.

Travelling in Costa Rica is much easier when you know some conversational Spanish. Many locals will understand English, but it will ease your experience by knowing some basic Spanish in advance. You'll be able to ask better questions and understand signs/shop owners. I recommend using Rosetta Stone before you even leave for your trip, and when you arrive you can refine your conversational skills.
