Trump Sues Big Tech Personally, 3628

Good afternoon, I’m still reporting on the coup.
President Trump has struck a blow for freedom today by suing Twitter, Facebook and Google, as well as their CEOs, personally, in what he called major class-action lawsuits.
“Today, in conjunction with the American First Policy Institute, I’m filing as the lead class representative, a major class action lawsuit against the big tech giants including Facebook, Google and Twitter as well as their CEOs, Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai and Jack Dorsey,” Trump said from Bedminster, New Jersey.
Trump asserted that big tech is violating Americans’ First Amendment rights by selective, politically-motivated censorship.
“We’re asking the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida to order an immediate halt to stop social media companies’ illegal and shameful censorship of the American people. That’s exactly what they’re doing.
“We’re demanding an end to the shadow banning, a stop to the silencing, a stop to the blacklisting, banishing and canceling that you know so well.”
Trump, who has been banned off Twitter permanently and banned off Facebook until after the 2022 elections –added:
“[We are] not looking to settle. We’re going to hold big tech very accountable.”
“… ultimately, we will win. Our Country can’t take this abuse anymore!”
Trump said that his team is looking to reform Section 230 of what is laughably titled the Communications Decency Act.
This is the section that provided immunity protection for the tech giants near the dawn of the Internet age to help them get started.
Surprisingly, pressure has been building across the board against this monopoly of censorship.
Even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi backed repeal of Section 230. Pressure has mounted since October 2020 when the New York Post had its Twitter and Facebook account censored for posting a story about Hunter Biden’s laptop that seemed to implicate Joe Biden in business dealings with China and Ukraine.
Twitter demanded that The Post delete six tweets that they claimed were based on hacked information. However, the fact that not even Hunter Biden denied that the so-called “hacked materials” were authentic.
After a 2-week standoff, Twitter relented and reinstated the Post’s account. FoxNews dubbed the victory: “an important moment for journalism and for the freedom of the press.”
Trump’s lawsuit kicks this fight up at least a couple of notches, and thank God for him. He is the only one big enough and bold enough to push back against this unprecedented attack on America’s First Amendment rights.

Although Trump is unlikely to reap much of a financial benefit due to the huge costs of mounting such complex litigation, those of us little guys who have suffered economically from this censorship could reap the benefits eventually, and perhaps will be less likely to suffer censorship in the near term for simply telling the truth.
I’m still reporting from just outside the citadel of world freedom. Good day.
