Fears of individuals trapped in rubble are sparked by the collapse of a 12-story apartment building.
After an apartment building near Miami Beach collapsed in the early hours of this morning, a large rescue mission is underway.
The structure, Champlain Towers South, a twelve-story apartment complex, has partially collapsed, according to fire rescue personnel.
The cause of the condo building's collapse near 88th Street and Collins Avenue in Surfside, Florida, is still unknown.
As a search-and-rescue operation by local authorities gets begun, fears are increasing that many people may be dead or trapped beneath the rubble at Champlain Towers South.
