CHAPTER 024 - THE ASSEMBLY OF ELDERS

Our travelers feel safe for the first time in a long while. When they wake up after the weddings they go out into the orchard near the villa where they experience something mystical. Dalaandeen sings them a song while they are under the influence of magic mushrooms, and they all come to realize that everyone and everything is connected, through all of time.

The Assembly of Elders is eager to hear the stories of both Paul and Mabbi. Mabbi goes first and she tells the story of her father's trip northward, and the war he sparks with the Western Slope tribes. Paul goes next and he shows them the videos by John Cornish.

Elze and her army are still on the South River road, and the drugs which Mabbi added to their drinks take their toll. Paranoia explodes into violence, and after a tense standoff they realize that they have been poisoned. They return to the North River road to continue their chase.
