On August 16, 2016, Joe spent the night at his friend’s house for his thesis.
According to Joanna Marie Sayos, that same day Ma. Evelyn Sayos left the house with three of her college friends
and told her that she’s traveling to Singapore with them.

While in Singapore, Evelyn kept in touch with her children through Facebook Messenger.

Her last known conversation with Joe was on October 11, 2016, when she sent him a belated birthday greeting.

She explained that she had to be away to free herself from stress and to be happy.

She also apologized that she’s not able to communicate with them more often because she’s busy at work.
Joe asked Evelyn to have a video conversation with him, so he can see her make sure that she is okay.

Evelyn avoided the video calls and did not want to be seen.

after that, Joe never heard from his mother again.

On the other hand, Evelyn is still communicating with Joanna
telling her not to worry because she’s okay and even commenting on some of her Facebook posts.

Joanna kept telling her brother no to worry about their mother because she is in constant communication with her, and that she didn’t wanna be bothered, she is enjoying life, and everything is okay.
