Battle Hymn of The Republic - Doll's Tribute

This is my tribute to the men and women heroes of the Civil War. Although it’s a very tragic part of American History, it’s also one of great victory as we were the first nation to bring an end to slavery and reunite a divided nation. As I reflected on this part of our nation’s history while working on producing this video, I could not help but become extremely emotionally touched many times all throughout the process as I created the scenes. I felt as though I was personally on a journey and this video unfolded before me, one section at a time. I can only imagine what the people of this civil war time went through as slaves, civilians, soldiers, nurses, doctors and their families from both the North and the South. Although the loss of life was astronomical and more than in any other war, I do believe that God’s great love, will and purpose was to ultimately set an entire race of people free. I believe slavery literally broke the heart of God. The cost of freedom is not free. Only by the vision and sensitivity of our great President Lincoln and the prayers and persistence of his people is what brought us through to great victory in the end.
