Holosun HS403C red dot review: I think there are better options.

I purchased this optic for my home defender rifle project. Unfortunately I did not do my homework prior to purchase and felt that the optic left me wanting more. I feel that there are better options around this price point.Show more

My detractors:

Automatic mode does not give you a usable reticle in low light or inside and is probably best suited for outdoor use.

Manual mode does not have shake awake technology and unfortunately is limited to 30,000 hrs. There are options available at or below this price that can give up to 100,000 hrs (403r) or more and failsafe.

Holosun offers more rugged designs that may be better suited for real world applications such as home defense or patrol rifles. Examples are 503cu and 515.
