Colt training not breaking

Colt training shouldn’t start when you start riding them. Gunner is 16 months old. Usually I wouldn’t already started working with them but due to my health problems I’ve had to put it off to long. I believe in training not breaking. It’s all about communication between you and your horse. The whip isn’t for hitting but for directions. I want to to build his confidence and trust. Not make him afraid of me but respect and want to please me.
