International FMD Research at NBAF

The National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility in Manhattan, Kansas will replace Plum Island Animal Disease Center on Plum Island, New York with an added biosafety level 4 laboratories. Just like Plum Island Animal Disease Center, NBAF will bring in samples of disease from around the world for research. This includes Foot-and-Mouth Disease.
