A suspected tornado touched down in London on Friday, June 25 and tattered local homes and businesses, as seen in this footage filmed in Romford.

Eyewitness video shows collapsed and overturned stalls with twisted metal at Romford Market, one of the East End's oldest street markets. According to romford-market.co.uk, the market has existed since 1247.

"Romford Market after getting hit by a tornado causing massive damage to market stalls to the point where metal had been bent on the stalls," Newsflare's filmer said.

Video also shows cars driving through flooded roads.

On Friday night, the UK Met Office issued a yellow thunderstorm warning. "Slow-moving thunderstorms will give heavy downpours leading to some flooding & travel disruption across parts of London & Essex. Warning valid until 2300," the Met Office tweeted.
