For all the people saying this is animal abuse. This is NOT animal abuse. Right there is the Scruff of their necks. Holding it reminds them of how their mothers used to carry them. This is psychological thing in the cats mind that makes them do this. I am a skilled volunteer at an animal shelter and I work specifically with cats. All our animal experts approve of this and it does NOT hurt the cat in anyway. If with an adult cat you can not hold them by the scruff with their whole weight as this can injure them.
