20210621 Adoption Versus Abortion - The Daily Summation

Can you honestly not distinguish between a sixteen-year-old seeking to adopt a child, and one seeking to abort a pregnancy?

Though that's true for at least person I had the sad task of attending to recently, I remain fervent in the the hope it's not all that common

Yes, it IS unfortunate that a child (a sixteen year old, or YOUNGER), decided to "risk the consequences of" sexual activity.

That's not to say, their getting pregnant is completely a bad thing.

By the way, we're NOT talking about situations like incest or rape in this discussion (even though I still largely don't support abortion where they're concerned).

Thing is, if a child gets pregnant, THERE ARE ALMOST ALWAYS OPTIONS. That said, if I look back in time, one thing that was NOT considered reasonable or appropriate, was "disposing of" the child.

And those who chose to do so, were generally looked at badly if it was known that was the case (children AND parents).

We've moved a LONG way from that point to this. These days, if one of my children were pregnant, though I'm not getting any younger, I'd raise the child(ren) if nothing else).

For most cases though, there's adoption and foster care.

Should children be allowed to adopt as a rule? Not so much.

This is what I consider on today's edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics.
