When the lights go out for an extended period of time, such as weeks on end, things will change drastically. The world as we know it will be changed forever!
There have already been many changes but nothing to compare to a grid out situation.
Emergency services will no longer exist, fire, police, ambulance, etc. will end!
Medications will become in short supply then run out. Many who depend on these prescribed medications will die.
Those who are addicted to drugs will go into withdrawal and may become violent at times.
Water will become a source that you have to supply on your own and many will die from from being able to find adequate or clean drinking water.
Prisoners both hardcore and low level alike will be released from prisons!
