Ep. 26 - Starting a Driving School in the Middle of a Pandemic ( John Galaviz)
Today we have one of our Entrepreneur Spotlight series of interviews specifically focusing on how businesses pivoted during the pandemic and have been able to move forward with a renewed focus. In this episode, Jeff interviews John Galaviz of Patriot Driving Academy. Jeff and John discuss:
1. How he was able to pivot his business during the pandemic
2. How he changed his model to include online learning that actually changed how he does business now.
3. How he dealt with having to do driving instruction in person
4. What changes he sees for the future of driving instruction, including electric cars that parallel park, self-drive, etc.

1. If you lost your business tomorrow, what would you do? I would find mentors that could help me to understand new business opportunities. I would learn from them, become their intern, work for free. Whatever it took.
2. What is the biggest business challenge you have had? Being able to delegate. When he worked for someone else it was easy, when it was his own money at risk it was much more difficult. This has been a challenge that he has been working on. The more he lets go, the better his business is.

4. What is a tool that you use every day (like an Evernote) that you would recommend to other entrepreneurs? Social Media. Most of our clients are kids so being able to connect with them where they spend time is a must.
