MASS SHOOTING REPORT: WEEK ENDING JUNE 18TH, 2021
In the week ending June 18th, 2021 there have been a total of 21 mass shootings (PT News Network defines a mass shooting as a shooting incident with 4 or more victims, including the shooter). Twenty-eight people were killed and 102 injured in the shootings.
Since January 20th, 2021, the day President Biden took office there have been 259 mass shootings, 298 people killed, and 1087 people injured. That is a 58% increase in mass shootings compared to the same period of the Trump Administration’s first year. It is also a 60% increase in fatalities and a 52% increase in shooting victims compared to the same period of the first year of the Trump Administration.
None of the shooting suspects identified in the news articles were identified as being caucasian males. All of the identified shooters this past week were identified as Black or minority, along with many of the victims.
