Names like, Gus Kahn, Dorothy Fields, Irving Caesar, Harold Arlin,Yip Harburg, Sammy Kahn, Jerome Kern, George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Lerner and Loewe, Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick and many others gave a distinguished name to music that was all American. Music that was song by Judy Garland, Al Jolson, Louie Armstrong, Elvis Presley, The Andrew Sisters, Tom Jones, Zero Mostel, Joan Baez, Mario Lanza and many others.
