U.S. President Joe Biden's charm offensive continues in Europe this week after the G7 Summit wrapped up at the weekend as the focus shifts to security and trans-Atlantic relations with his participation at both a NATO and European Union Summit this week. But not after the leaders of the world's most developed nations met in person for the first time in two years - joined by some middle-income countries including South Africa - and producing a detailed communiqué that seeks to end the coronavirus pandemic by 2022, recognizing the urgency of the climate change agenda while also seeking to check China's growing influence with promises of billions of dollars to Africa in the next five years.
