The Fox and the Lumberjack

The man became a widower with a newborn baby and this baby was cared for and watched over by a fox.

One day he arrived tired from work and the fox came to greet him at the door with the same joy, wagging his tail, happy, but with his mouth all bloody, the neighbors looking from afar and he takes the ax and kills the fox, sad he enters the house to find his child.

When he enters the room, the child is sleeping peacefully in the crib and beside the crib a dead snake, all bloodied. The fox fought that snake to defend the child from the woodcutter.

The sad woodcutter buried the fox in the same place along with his ax, very sorry for what he did.
