B-Roll of a Key Leader Engagement onboard the USS Hershel "Woody" Williams. The engagement and tour of the U.S. Navy vessel provided an opportunity for Major General Andrew M. Rohling, Commander of U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa, to meet with partners from Moroccan Southern Zone Command. The leaders were able to discuss interoperability between the two partner nations, their potential as coalition partners, and the capability of USS Hershel "Woody" Williams as an asset to the African Area of Responsibility, as well as what is to be achieved during the African Lion 21 exercise. African Lion is U.S. Africa Command’s largest, premier, Joint, annual exercise hosted by Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal, 7-18 June. More than 7,000 participants from nine nations and NATO train together with a focus on enhancing readiness for U.S. and partner nation forces. AL21 is a multi-domain, multi-component, and multi-national exercise, which employs a full array of mission capabilities with the goal to strengthen interoperability among participants.
