Columbia River, Bonneville Dam, WA - Fishing Shad

Fishing Shad on the Oregon side if the Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River.

The minimum setup we used was a 6ft Ugly Stik GX2 Medium action with 8lbs main line and 8lbs leader line (No problem). Most of our group were using Medium/Heavy casting rods with 10lbs or higher line. The current was slower on the Oregon side and didn't require a heavy duty setup. On the Washington side, you may need a heavier setup to fight the faster flowing current.
