Buddha means enlightenment in Sanskrit, the ancient sacred language of India. Buddha is the title given to Buddhist masters or all enlightened people who have attained Buddhist spiritual enlightenment. An example of a Buddha is Siddhartha Gautama, who was born in Kapilavastu around 556 BC, the capital of a small kingdom near the Himalayas on the border with present-day Nepal. Siddhartha, son of King Sudan, grew up to become a guerrilla and will become the heir to his father's throne. Siddhartha practiced sports and martial arts with the best tutors and was endowed with unique wisdom. His life is full of luxury and comfort, but when he leaves the palace and is faced with poverty, illness and death, he feels restless and seeks to understand human suffering.
