Have you been found yourself lately hungering deeply for the Lord? Perhaps it has been a long time you have been deeply yearning for Him. You have stacks of different Bible translations, commentators, expositors and a line-up many books supposedly containing spiritual insights. You take copious notes of seemingly inspired insights that start looking like a treasure map that leads nowhere. Next you try going from one You Tube channel to another in hopes that perhaps you will find a passage-way to the "depths of Jesus Christ." Only to find that it added up to nothing more than a monochromatic spiritual void that deepened.

We read the words of David that say, "Deep calleth unto deep..." This means that the deep heart of God is calling you from the depths of your heart. His heart is calling you, beckoning you to go with Him into His deep places. Do not be mistaken. It is not attainable by more reading, note taking, and a daily parade of videos. In fact, all those things are an external application of trying to acquire the deep things of God that only make it you feel ten times more emptier. Besides it is only more head knowledge cargo, while the entire time your heart increases in deeper yearning.

"The deep of man’s need calleth unto the deep of God’s fulness; and the deep of God’s fulness calleth unto the deep of man’s need. Between our emptiness and His all-sufficiency there is a great gulf. . . . Deep calleth unto deep. The deep mercy of God needs our emptiness, into which it might pour itself. . . . Nothing can fully meet the depth of our need but the depth of His Almighty fulness” - And excerpt from Handfuls on Purpose by James Smith and Robert Lee - 1943

There is only one way to enter into the depths of God and that is to go to Him empty handed in prayer. Go to Him with nothing but your heart in the matter and tell Him you are ready to God with Him. To reveal to you His deep things, the depth of His riches, the depths of His love, the depths of His mercy. The riches stored in secret (deep) places. Your yearning heart of prayer is the only thing required. Do not think you can ever know what those deep things of God are. They are things only He can show you. They are His to reveal and past finding out. Let it be His joy to take you there.
