The tangará is an endemic bird of the Atlantic Forest known for its extravagant flight display. Males, conspicuous due to their blue, black and reddish coloration, group together in perches where they exhibit a dance for females, accompanied by elaborate vocalizations. At the end of the exhibition, the female decides whether to mate with the dominant male or to continue looking for another reproductive partner.
