Colonial Pipeline CEO Discusses Hack in Senate Hearing

Colonial Pipeline says a single compromised password led to the shutdown of one of the country's most important pipelines last month. Its CEO Joseph Blount told the government committee Tuesday that an old piece of technology wasn't using the security feature called multi-factor authentication. Hackers used this loophole to get into its system.
