A pond is a small body of water that is usually shallow enough to allow sunlight to reach the bottom. Sunlight enables root plants to grow across the bottom of the pond from one beach to another. Ponds may be formed as a result of natural conditions or by human action, and from it they are part of the public domain if the water is salty and connected with the sea.
