Core training series: stability ball crunch. This is a simple and basic exercise that targets the RA ab muscles while providing a stabilization benefit. It helps to protect the back, while working the abs and stabilizer muscles. Performing each rep slowly maximizes proper range of motion with peak contraction of the ab muscles. This exercise can be progressed and regressed as needed. I like it because it allows me to work the abs without pain or increased risk to my back and hips, where I have old injuries and limitations. It is also great for beginners and those who are restarting a fitness program.
