About Mrs. Hermit, and this Channel's purpose. Shalom!

Transcript:
Shalom! You can call me Hermit or Mrs. Hermit. (Note: that’s just a nickname for privacy.) I will not be showing my face or name here nor on my website for privacy reasons. Himmit is my husband (also a nickname).

I hope to make a Channel that encourages and inspires other quiet, faith-filled homemakers like me. My life looks quiet and mundane, like a hermit. I work out my faith journey at home (Himmit and I haven’t found a community). I find lessons in the mundane. I enjoy learning how to make what is useful, but also what can be helpful for the soul. Sometimes seeing something pretty during a dreary day can uplift the soul, like a rose petal left just for you by God along your Pilgrim journey to the High Places. (referencing these books: “Pilgrim’s Progress” by John Bunyan, and “Hind’s Feet on High Places” by Hannah Hurnard)

A little about me: I’m quiet, very reserved, and modest. I’m obese but am currently making life changes to lose 100lbs, just from diet and exercising like following Gina B's Up To the Beat Fitness; Sharona's Hill Youtube workouts, and Leslie Sansone’s Walk at Home 15 minute videos (https://walktv.walkathome.com/catalog Get fit with me!). I don’t wear makeup, I cover my hair, and wear tzitzit.

My skin color is around a Pantone 4029C (https://www.pantone.com/color-finder ), and if that is utmost in your mind, this is probably not the Channel for you.

My faith is best described as a mixture of Jewish and Christian. Himmit and I don’t agree with following traditions without being circumspect. I am a follower of the Nazarene, Yeshua. HE is my Savior, my Rabbi, my Shepherd, my God. There is only one God. All have sinned and fallen short. We need to repent, to be changed, redeemed. I worship at home with Himmit (nickname), my husband. My role in life, along with being a housewife, is to be a hermit. Sometimes I serve as a sort of bartender in the lounge of life, trying to help those who pass on by.

My past is a wondrous story of God’s continued deliverance and mercies, which are new every morning. I grew up in an unhappy, dysfunctional family, and as Tolstoy wrote, “All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way”. I didn’t have a normal childhood and didn’t learn much growing up. I think we all miss certain lessons. We are all ignorant of what we don’t know. I’d like to share with you the things I’ve learned and am learning that I hope will be helpful and inspiring. Like everyone else, I’m not perfect. But I’ve found that trying matters to God, and I hope that we can inspire each other to persevere and endure to the end.

In addition to homemaking, I like to sew, machine knit, play musical instruments, learn Hebrew, and read. I do crochet and some other crafts from time to time. My hopeful prayer is to homestead, but right now that isn’t God’s will for us.

I have a website that not only has more helpful Reflections and Tutorials, but a Blessings page with items made by me and others (as well as some crafting supplies) for the asking, and a Community Board. Please check it out! https://ideasfromthemaster.wixsite.com/hermits-reflections

If you find the content helpful, please consider sending me a thank you note! (Note, Gift, Support). https://ideasfromthemaster.wixsite.com/hermits-reflections/contact-form https://ideasfromthemaster.wixsite.com/hermits-reflections/share-thanks-blessings

God’s fingerprints are everywhere, in my life and yours. Don’t miss the still small voice! (1 Kings 19.11-13)
Shalom!
