On CAM: Man, girlfriend snatch woman’s mobile phone ARRESTED

In a daring incident of snatching in Chennai, a man and her girlfriend snatched the mobile phone of a woman. The incident happened around 7.30am on Monday when 42-year-old S Prasanna Lipsha of Teynampet was walking on the G N Chetty Road with her friend, Lipsha owns a beauty parlour. The accused have been identified as P Raju, 24, a resident of Bharathi Street at Choolaimedu who is a tattoo artist, and his girlfriend, S Swathi, 20, a native of Karur who is a final year visual communication student here. Raju and Swathi came on a two-wheeler from behind. Raju, who was riding the two-wheeler, snatched Lipsha’s mobile phone and sped away. A CCTV camera that recorded the incident showed that Raju was handing over the mobile phone to Swathi who was riding pillion. Cops said that even the motorcycle the duo used was a stolen one.
