Lovely friendship

Sammy loved it when Tabby pushed him on the swing and his long ears would wave crazily in the air and Tabby loved it when Sammy went fishing with her. Tabby and Sammy were the best of friends. They’d rather be stuck together for their whole lives than not seeing each other for a day.

One day, Sammy and Tabby were going to eat. That day, there was a problem. They didn’t have the same bowls! Tabby leaned towards one with steak. “I think this one’s for me because it has a pink design and BOYS don’t like pink.” Sammy’s anger started boiling up. “Well I don’t think cats like meat. I always thought it was too TOUGH for cats.” Tabby hissed. Then, Sammy growled. “I NEVER want to see you again!!!” Sammy snapped. “Neither do I!!!” Tabby snapped back. In seconds, both of them turned their heads away from each other and walked off.

That evening, Tabby went fishing. When she wanted to put the worm on the hook, she was terrified. She’d NEVER liked worms. Normally, Sammy would be there to help her. She didn’t need him there though, she thought. Tabby packed up, and headed home unhappily.

Next morning, Sammy went to the park to have a little swing. Sammy frowned. Normally, Tabby would be there to push him. Now he couldn’t sit on it while his ears waved crazily, but he didn’t need her to push him. One day he would grow big enough to do it himself. He walked back home because surely he had something more exciting to do. Besides, there was the whole afternoon left.

Two weeks passed and Tabby and Sammy still weren’t having fun. They remembered how much fun they had together, but didn’t want to. Sometimes they would walk past each other, but pretended they didn’t know.

A few days later, Tabby went fishing again. Tabby got a worm and tried to quickly pierce it. When she did, her paw went down too far and cut herself. As Sammy was taking a walk, he heard someone crying. He followed the sound, as he got closer. When he approached the person, he stopped. It was Tabby. Did he want to help HER? Sammy couldn’t stand it any longer. Sammy rushed to Tabby. “Tabby! Are you okay?” She showed him her wound. It was worse than Sammy thought. He searched Tabby’s bag. There WOULD be something that could help! Sammy found a piece of cloth and an elastic band. He wrapped the cloth around Tabby’s paw and made sure it stayed there with the elastic band.

After both friends said sorry, they were best friends again. Sammy can’t go fishing with Tabby and Tabby can’t push Sammy on the swings, but neither of them minded. Besides, they’re still best friends.
