The gritty vintage sound of Royal Deluxe is almost enough to make you get a crew cut, throw on some high-waisted pants and polished saddle shoes and head down the local drag with a car load of friends. The infectious blend of sixties-inspired soul, blues and rock is a pleasant reminder of musical yesteryear wrapped up nicely in a very relevant, cool-right-now kind of package. Some tunes are rockin' while others keep it low and smooth. This is a group who's vinyl would be a continuous player on our hi-fi — if only they'd release one. For now, streaming is required.
