I don’t have all the details on when or where in the park, but I was sent the link to this video by a friend currently in the area. It is likely, but not confirmed, the Ranger was firing rubber bullets, which are sometimes used for hazing bears to discourage them from hanging out in the road. If I get any more details, I’d add them. It does appear the bear was previously injured, but this isn’t yet confirmed by a source in the park, it’s just based on appearance; that would explain the aggression.
