Carrying Lawn Chairs-Background

What in my background qualifies me to write a book on organized youth sports and all of the problems I have with it and many other issues involving parents and young people in society today? I was involved in organized youth sports on many fronts, including: player, coach, umpire, league organizer, scorekeeper and just a general observer. From what I have observed, I have come to the opinion that organized youth sports, especially for young kids, is nothing short of dysfunctional. Why is watching very young kids play organized youth sports such an obsession to so many parents and others? What is their true motivation? These are the questions I have asked because I think they are just common sense questions of an observer. To me it makes no sense to have the stands full and many sitting in their lawn chairs screaming and yelling orders while watching 5, 6 and 7 year olds play T-Ball or other sports. The kids don't like being there, but they are doing it to please their parents so they will get the love of their parents, which is a prime motivation in their young lives.
These are unconventional ideas, but I think they are obvious to anyone willing to see, which it seems many parents aren't. I am not a trained child psychologist or any other kind of trained expert in related fields, as mentioned, I am just an observer who tries to observe with common sense. I believe I also take this approach in the second part of the book when I deal with many other issues related to parents and young people in today's often mixed up world.
I put forth my thoughts. Obviously, no one is forced to agree with or abide by my unconventional ideas and suggestions. I look at my book as a collaboration with parents. I am not a parental guru, I just put forth ideas for parents and others to consider and maybe run with. Thank you.
