From time to time believers find themselves in a dead zone. These are not easy places to be in especially to those who are deeply and sincerely committed to a life in Christ. There is a caliber of Christians that live very near and dear to the heart of Jesus. They lovingly read His word daily out of pure love and hunger for Him. They thirst after the living waters that only He can pour out to them. They pray in secret and speak to Him throughout the day in real loving companionship with the Chief Shepherd.

Yet every now and then there seems to be a time where something changes, and a wrestling begins within. It is like everything stops and everything easy becomes hard to do. When this happens to younger believers there is a panic that causes them to feel as if they have sinned the Lord out of their lives. To the seasoned believer, they become quiet and listen. This may be something you are experiencing and do not know why.

Perhaps you will hear these words that I share and will lead you to the Lord in open honest prayer to Him. He is the one who searches the heart and knows the minds of all His people. The Lord wants you to serve Him without a doubt, but there are things that get in the way that we are not aware of. And it is His great mercy that shows us where we might be taking over, or become passive or hardened in our hearts. Once He shows you, He will send you back out to feed the hungry and give thirst to those in desert places you just emerged from. He will "give you hinds feet to get up upon thine high places."
