The Church of the Holy Sepulcher is considered by Christians to be the site of Jesus' Crucifixion, Burial and Resurrection. It is one of the most sacred places in Christendom.

The Church is owned and administered by the Roman Catholic, Orthodox Catholic, Armenian, Greek Orthodox, Syriac Orthodox churches and the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. The rights and privileges of these communities are protected by the Status Quo of Holy Places (1852), as established by Article LXII of the Treaty of Berlin (1878).
