Psalm 5

HEAR my words, O Lord, listen to my meditation.

Answer the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for I will pray to you.

In the morning you will hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I will present my prayer to you, and I will watch.

For you are not a God who takes pleasure in iniquity, and evil will not dwell with you.

The fools will not stop at your sight; you hate everyone who practices evil.

You will destroy those who speak the lie; the Lord will hate the bloodthirsty and fraudulent man.

But I will come into your house by the greatness of your lovingkindness; and in your fear I will bow down to your holy temple.

Lord, guide me in your righteousness because of my enemies; make your way straight before me.

For there is no righteousness in their mouth; his insides are true evil, his throat is an open tomb; they flatter with their language.

declare them guilty, O God; fall for their own advice; cast them out because of the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against you.

But let all those who trust in you rejoice; rejoice forever, because you defend them; and those who love your name glory in you.

For you, Lord, will bless the righteous; you will surround him with your benevolence as with a shield.
