A Scherzer type rolling lift bridge crossing the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers Florida, this bridge was built in 1977 replacing an earlier swing bridge which was built in 1903. I am a movable bridge man that loves movable bridges in the United States Canada and Foreign drawbridges around the world, my favorite bridge type is a Strauss Heel Trunnion type bascule bridge and others like all bascule type bridges lift bridges and swing bridges highway and railroad bridges.
