How important is education?

I'm certainly not saying it has no value or effect on life.

That said, to begin with, people who think the education system in the U. S. compares to the way things work in MANY other parts of the world are more than a little confused.

I did most of my schooling in Australia. I can tell you pretty directly, they were FAR in advance of America.

Having been educated there until grade ten, I had the equivalent of a high school education in the U. S.

That was FORTY YEARS AGO (literally that I FINISHED my education in that country)

Equally important, there's NO SUCH THING AS "free education."

To make that worse, you can devalue things like education, by making it possible for everyone to go through it.

I want folks to know as well, I have ZERO college degrees (I have done some college level training). Yet I work as a Senior Software Developer.

Yes, it took me longer to get there, than it would for folks with degrees. Yet and still, I GOT THERE.

This is what I cover on today's edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics.

When I'm able to complete the companion article on the Kurt's Religion and Politics blog, I'll post a link to it here.
