The Riché-Cannieu anastomosis (ARC) is located between the deep branch of the ulnar nerve and branches of the median nerve in the tenar region and can take various anatomical paths. Its importance is related to the occurrence of injury to these nerves, which can cause sensory and atypical motor deficits, in addition to hindering the result of the electrophysiological examination in the investigation of other pathologies, such as the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The objectives of this work are to promote the anatomical description of the Riché-Cannieu anastomosis and to promote its illustration, through the dissection morphology, adding knowledge to those elucidated by the current medical literature, to compare the dissection findings with the information in the medical literature, to determine the frequency , the path and the topography of these anastomoses and, finally, to determine the clinical implications of the Riché-Cannieu anastomosis in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
