Israel: Police interfere in clashes between Jewish and Arab residents in Lod-video 2021

Jewish and Arab residents of Lod clashed on Wednesday night, as intercommunal violence continued to escalate in the mixed city. Israeli security forces used stun grenades against both groups as they intervened to try to quell the unrest but they could also be seen at times standing by as Jewish protesters stood next to them and hurled stones at Arab residents.

Arab residents could also be throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at Jewish groups. Some of the worst violence in years has broken out in Israel and Palestine over the last week, with a wave of unrest gripping Israeli cities, while the Israeli military and Palestinian militants have engaged in exchanges of airstrikes and rocket fire.
